Our enhanced Half-Bridge Amplifier is a powerhouse in the realm of high-voltage experimentation, capable of handling input voltages up to 350V, both DC and AC, and sustaining a continuous current of 5 amperes. When paired with one of our AC or DC flyback transformers, it can achieve voltage levels up towards 30kv, offering unprecedented control over frequency and current. It's an ideal choice for advanced applications requiring higher power levels:

  • High Voltage and Current Rating: Designed for input voltages ranging from 20V to 350V, this amplifier can deliver significant output power, making it perfect for more demanding experimental setups.
     
  • Sharp and Accurate Switching: Equipped with ultra-fast and high-voltage MOSFETs, the amplifier is capable of sharp, precise switching – essential for creating controlled, high-voltage impulses.
     
  • AC Compatibility: While technically capable of connecting directly to an AC outlet, we don’t recommend this approach for safety reasons. Instead, we have developed a specialized AC adapter, designed specifically for use with this amplifier.
     
  • Recommended Power Sources: For optimal control and safety, we advise powering the amplifier through a dedicated power supply or a variac, allowing you to adjust the voltage as needed.
     
  • Transformer Compatibility: When using the amplifier with a step-up transformer, ensure that the transformer has adequate isolation between the primary and secondary windings. This is crucial to prevent spark-over and potential damage to the transformer.
     
  • Magnetic Field Measurement Output: A unique feature of this board is its separate output for connecting to an oscilloscope, enabling measurement of the magnetic field in the transformer during operation. This can be achieved by winding 4 turns of wire on the primary side of the transformer and connecting it to the board's measuring port.
     
  • Immediate Shutdown Feature: The amplifier is equipped with a dedicated shutdown input, compatible with MCU output signals (5V), enabling programmable and instant shutdown. This feature allows for rapid response in your experiments, turning off both MOSFETs immediately when activated, which is essential for certain scenarios and adds an extra layer of control and safety.
     
  • Safety and Precision: As with our standard Half-Bridge Amplifier, this model includes a BNC connector for easy function generator integration, selectable impedance matching, full input isolation, and multiple protection mechanisms.

As such, it's not feasible to operate this amplifier at its maximum power rating using these transformers.
